The room was excellent with an extremely comfy bed, located in a marvellous spot downstairs in the pub, and easy to find just off the main road.

Perfect hotel, I felt so relaxed.
I stayed here 2 nights and loved it. The rooms were great-sized and good standard with new upgraded bathroom and the beds were extremely comfy. The location was good and perfect very near town centre or cricket club and off the main road. Hotel's restaurant served excellent meals.

Ideal hotel, had good stay.
Hotel's location was particularly good and perfect, downstairs in the pub. Had supper enjoying drinks at nearby The Galvanisers Union.

The Red Lion Hotel offers perfect accommodation in a fantastic setting, conveniently located just a short distance from Durham with bus stops right outside. the pub downstairs adds to the charm of the place, and the proximity to the Stone Valley North Festival is a real plus. the hotel staff is welcoming and accommodating, making for a pleasant stay all around.

The location here was fantastic! It was super convenient for me since it was close to the Stone Valley North festival and also not far from both Newcastle and Durham. I also enjoyed a nice brunch at the Three Magpies, which is just around the corner. 🌟.

The staff were welcoming, the location was ideal for the Stone Valley North Festival. the rooms were spacious with bedside lights, a lovely comfortable bed, and excellent breakfast. I enjoyed having an electric kettle and glassware.

The property has a perfect location, very near the town centre and cricket club. It is also located close to the Riverside and the Beamish museum. the bedroom is spacious and the bathroom is huge. there is a work desk, tea and coffee making equipment, and a TV set in the room.

Great location for attending the Stone Valley North Festival. Just a hop on the bus outside the hotel to get to Durham or the festival. Plus, having a pub downstairs is super convenient! 🍻
